How to choose the best photographer for your family

When choosing a photographer for yourself and/or your loved ones, it’s extremely important to consider other factors beyond beautiful photos. Yes, great photos are important but if you care anything about how the photos will actually turn out, you may need to get a better understanding of your photographer as well.

So, I’ve put together a short list of some questions to ask your potential photographer that will hopefully help you make your decision:

• “How would you describe your photography style?”
• “Do you work well with kids?”
• “My kids can’t sit still for long periods of time. What’s your approach to this?”
• “Where do the sessions take place? Will you provide location options?”
• “What if it rains on our scheduled session date?”
• “What is your refund or cancellation policy?”
• “What do your collections include and what will I have to pay extra for?”
• “When can we expect to receive our photos?”
• “I want to book you as my photographer. What are my next steps?”
